As Katie lay on a massage table on a Thailand vacation, she got an entire book idea. The whole book from beginning to end, and every detail in between, dropped into her mind. Guidance for mothers and those seeking genius advice

Kids are dealing with so much right now. They endure more than most of us had to as kids. Any tool that can allow them to have an easier time in life helps. Kids should be able to gain new perspective on things like feeling left out, perfectionism or the many themes that the Firefly series deals with. Kids really understand it AND enjoy it.

Now that is a gift that any mother would want to give her kids! At least I know I do.

How are you? Can you guess what returned today? My podcast! Yep, that’s right. The Inner Magik School Podcast is back! Today’s episode is a very personal one. It’s all about both how and why I left my 12 year long position in the beauty care industry. I built a successful career in the beauty industry. However, I had a higher purpose, and that purpose meant taking a leap and pivoting my direction and my entire career and life.

Career change – answering a higher calling

After I recorded this episode, I decided it was a bit too personal, and I was planning to re-record it. But, as fate would have it, my husband and podcast editor had already posted it.

So, here is the full story of how I went from being a shy, introverted hairstylist to running a successful hair and makeup business to creating an even more successful online manifestation school. In the process, I walked away from a 12 year career.

My calling to make this transition became clear following my husband’s unexpected job loss. Suddenly, I had to take on the role of supporting my family. I did not make enough to meet this goal with my hair styling income and my freelance makeup artist side hustle. Over the next 5-6 years, I put the pieces together to replace that income and more. From neuro-linguistic training to employing business mentors to becoming a licensed hypnotherapist, each step helped shaped this pivot.

It wasn’t always easy. Some days I just laid in bed and cried. I pressed on, though, and the more I worked at it, the more I chipped away at the blocks that were holding me back. The process got easier and then I began teaching about the things that had made the biggest difference for me, and the past two years, my business has really taken off. I didn’t initially plan to teach others how to manifest business success, but I realized it was my gift and jumped headfirst into it. Improving other women’s lives is so fulfilling.
