“What is a mastermind,” you may be asking?
A mastermind group is a peer-to-peer mentoring concept used to help members solve their problems with input and advice from the other group members. The concept was coined in 1925 by author Napoleon Hill in his book The Law of Success, and described in more detail in his 1937 book, Think and Grow Rich“.

Mastermind – The Big Takeaways
I joined Jim Fortin’s Mastermind this year, and it has been amazing thus far. Here are 5 of my BIGGEST takeaways from our 2nd event of the year:
- Do you have core pillars within your business? These pillars are where your brand’s content message should flow from. I recommend three to five pillars. My business has four. Pillars are not synonymous with “topics”.
- The longest journey you will ever take is the 17 inches from your head to your heart. You must decide what this means for you. You may have a great idea on paper, but if you’re not feeling it in your gut, it will not be a success. When you open your heart, and work from it, you WILL see a difference!
- You can fail your way to six figures, as long as you are actually taking action along the way. I am dedicated to failing quickly, and often. This is a sign that I am putting forth effort and gaining knowledge and experience. The faster I fail and then get up and try again, the faster I can move forward in all areas. Redefine what failure means for you. Be proud when you fail and learn from it!
- Don’t know the answer? Be silent. It may take some effort, but you can make so much progress this way. Turn off the noise in your head, and tune into your intuition!
- Consult with your community. This means taking a break from your everyday stress in order to cultivate relationships with people in your industry. It’s life giving when you connect with other women who have the same goals that you do.
